new guitar,HELP

hey guyz ,i`m thinking of buying one or two of those guitars "all ibanez"
S2170
RG2550z
RG1570
S470
now i`m usin rg450ltd "almost like the rg1550" and i like it , but it`s 5 years old and i wanna change it , i`ve tried the 2 S guitars and i liked both and the s2170 got a better neck,it was like 1450$ while both rg1570 plus the s470 = 1400$ "well i like the rich sound of mahogany body "my basswood body guitar sounds very light maybe it`s a pickup prob or a wood prob"
watever,hope you help me out on gettin the best guitar for me , i`m a lead guitarist and i play prog metal and sometimes some jazz
i like all of those guitars and i can`t make up my mind and there`s alot of $$$ in here so i`d reconsider it and comeout with the best thing
btw,if u got another guitar , suggestions are open

I love the S2170
Until very recently i had all three (burl,ebony,bubinga)
The trem is excellent , the neck is very comfortable, the woods are exquisite etc etc.

The other's are all excellent choices, but you already have a RG.


The 2550's and 1570's are awesome too, It'd come down to body shape for me, pickups can always be replaced but you can't make a sabre any bigger.

These are just too fun.


Also remember Rg's 24 frets, Sabre's 22, unless you get the new jap 24 one.

did u try the s470?
i like the body of s and everything in it , but havin a 22frets guitar makes u want to own another 24 frets guitar,,i dunno,,wat if i got the rg1570 and the s470? or maybe the s2170 then later any rg guitar,,,i actually don`t know,,,does it really different between s470 and s2170?

Out of the guitars you mentioned, I'd go for the RG1570. It's made in Japan (the S's are not), has the Prestige Wizard neck (which I think is superior to the Wizard II on the S's) and the Edge Pro bridge (it's better than the Edge Zero on the 2550z imho).

You might want to upgrade the pickups, but it would still be cheaper than the RG2550z or the S2170, and you would have the pickups you want.

All that being said, play them all if possible, and choose the one YOU like best.

i actually played the s470 2 years ago and played the s2170 , and i couldn`t remember if they got the same neck , i just wanna know that so if someone tried both his opinion would be great.and i couldn`t get the chance to try the rest , so i was thinkin maybe i`d get the rg1570 plus the s470 and change both pickups or "if the neck is different between s470 and s2170" then i`d just get the s2170
