New PG model?

One of my friends recently sent me a vid Paul Gilbert did for a UK guitar mag, and he was using a red PGM, but it wasn't a PGM400. Had a bound body and black/dark binding around the F-holes. I'm pretty sure it was a slightly darker red than a 400 aswell, but I'm not sure, because I've only ever seen a 400 in person once. Basically, it looked like a spruced up 400 without the painted neck. I s this a custom he had made, or maybe a future production model? I hope the latter because it looks tastey!

Yep, looks exactly like it, except his one in the vid has creme binding around the f-holes, and covered pickups, both of which could of been done to the guitar you linked. Do you know anything about it?

Re: New PG model?

Well, i know that he has a new Red PGM with H-H setup (Almost similar to the CA one) that he used on Japan. Dont know the model though, he used it when he was jamming with Marty on his TV show.

Re: New PG model?

There's a video of Paul Gilbert playing Scarified with Racer X using that guitar somewhere on Google Video... I was under the impression it was a fairly old guitar, the vid didn't look too recent. Dunno if that's the exact one you refer to or not.

I doubt it'll be a new model; Gilbert was interviewed by GB (UK guitar mag) last issue, and he couldn't say enough about how good the PGM301 is, and he was especially enthusiastic about the 5-way switch and the centre single coil. I can't see him changing his production model after giving such a glowing review of the PGM301.

Re: New PG model?

This is the guitar that i mention, a H-H CA PGM. If memory serves me right, he said that he had this guitar in early 2006 custom made by Japan team or something. I cant really get back to it since this the only vid that's left of it (youtube took it away, copyright crap)

Re: New PG model?

I've heard rumors of PG eating YouTube-shredders for breakfast.

Nice guitar.
