New prestige rgt320q!!!

I just picked up my new rg320q and i love it, its amazing! I do have a few questions though. Ive never had a guitar with a floyd before, and when i was tuning it up, it was too out of tune for the fine tuners to get it in tune all the way. What do I have to do to get it in tune? Do I have to unlock the nut? Also, the neck is a little sticky. I have a spray on neck cleaner I use on my les paul called Powerchord, will that be ok on the finish of this guitar? any help would be appreciated.

Congrats. Sweet axe.

The simple answer is, YES, you have to unlock the nut and retune the strings as close as possible and then relock.

You would do yourself a great service to check out these pages and get fimiliar as possible with the techniques and tips. This is a link for the tech section of the ibanezrules.com website from the top of this page.

First a huge congratz! I have one of these and it is amazing. You've got a lifetime axe there!

On the tuning issue, ...yes, loosen all of the locking nut screws. Then unscrew the fine tuners to where they are all backed out enough to give you plenty of future fine tuning, and try to make them about the same height.
Then dive the whammy bar down a couple of times and let it naturally come back to rest in neutral floating position.

Then tune the guitar using the tuning keys on the headstock, going through all strings until they are all in tune. Then tighten the locking nut screws until they are nice and snug, but don't "wrench" them down. Usually, you will then need to check tuning again and make some minor adjustments with the fine tuners because the locking nut saddles will usually pull the strings a little sharp or even flat in some cases. Then you are good to go for a long time.

Be sure if you have new strings that you stretch them good before doing this process or you are just wasting your time and will have to do it all over again after playing an hour or so.

i find that tuning them a little bit each in order is an easy way to get in tune in a decent amount of time
