NGD!!!
Just picked this up used from forum member Raglor. It is an RG2610E with BKP Cold Sweat in it. It arrived looking just like a brand new guitar and it sounds and plays amazing.
Here it is in it's new home next to it's new buddy the Horus

Re: NGD!!!
With the right pickup and playing style, it still can be a versatile guitar. An acoustic guitar also has only one 'pickup position', but but no one would ever complain about that.
Nice guitar, I also like the extra 'touch' with the white pickup and knob.

from what i understand, the rg2610 costs the same as any other rg prestige. if i was going to spend that money on a new guitar...i'd just get the one with 2 more pickups? and you don't complain about an acoustic guitar having "one pickup position" because...it can only have one?

Nope, it can have two, saddle transducers, and a sound hole pickup... i also want to say there's a third way but i'm not sure

What I mean is that no one ever complains about the lack of versatility of an acoustic guitar. With the right playing style, you can work around its restrictions. Also: a lot of guitar players only use the bridge position, I also can play for days without touching the pickup switch. For some guitarists, it's just the best sound and they never (want to) use the neck or any other position.
A RG2610 is a little bit cheaper than a RG2570 (for instance), but it also features a more expensive pickup. If it were me, I would also have bought a two pickup guitar for the money, but at least I can imagine why anyone would buy a one pickup guitar. It can be enough to have just one. Plus: this one is second-hand, so maybe he got a good deal?

Re: NGD!!!
that's strange, i change my pickup selector about 5-10 times depending on what song i'm playing and constantly (every 20-40 seconds) on average if i'm just practicing/riffing/jamming.
oh well.

Re: NGD!!!
It's just a different look. You like it or you don't, I suppose. A lot of high-end guitars used to come with one pickup. BC Rich, Jackson, and even Ibanez USA Customs (I have a few) were available with just one humbucker. I think you're kind of limiting yourself, but some guys just like that ONE sound.
