NGD!!! Got my first J-Custom today!!

My RG8527 came in today
so ar I am really liking it, the EMGS are going to go but, they actually aren't too bad.
Bk Holy diver and BK MiracleMan neck are going in.
the neck is absolutely awesome on this guitar.
This should be a production model.

i've always loved that black finish - I've got one in VV and always wanted it to have a brother!

Let us know how the BK's work out as am thinking of getting some too.

Also it looks like extra routing has been done to fit the EMG's - are BK's bigger as well?

Re: NGD!!! Got my first J-Custom today!!

thanks for posting up the pics for me Jimmy.
I'm going to have to use special pickup rings that allow you to go "back to passives".
you can get them from dave at http://fretsonthenet.com/

The EMGS are wider than standard sized pickups.
I'll see how it looks without them first. (hopefully they'll look OK as I don't really wnat to put on pickup rings , but we'll see.
here's a link to the auction that I got it from.
http://cgi.****.com/ws/****ISAPI.dll...m=170325612432

The seller was great to deal with, he double boxed it , wrapped it nice and secure and it came pretty quickly from Japan.
I have BK's in my other 2 7's so I know it will sound killer when I get them in there.
it's super clean in very nice "minty" condition.
I just finished jamming to "The Glass Prison and pretty much the entire "Enemies of Reality "CD and the EMGS actually don't sound bad thru my mark III

Very nice guitar, man!

I want one.
Without the binding on the neck and I would kill to get one.

Shame on the one putting EMG in it
It is illegal to do things like that.

In defense of emg's;
most people don't care for them for 2 reasons
1: they're kinda like nitro~ so die hards assume your cheating.
2: the first thing you discover when install emg's is, you have the wrong amp and way too much money wasted in processors and effects
by the way ~~killer axe beeeeutifull
thats a keeper

Re: NGD!!! Got my first J-Custom today!!

Now that I've had this for a while it's really grown on me.
the EMGs sound great thru my mark III (had to do some minor EQ tweaking but no big deal)
I initially did not like the medium jumbo frets and I actually put it up for sale, but someone talked me into just playing for a while before jumping the gun and I glad he did.
Now I'm really liking this thing. I might switch out the trem arm for an OFR like I did on my 7620(s) but besides that this thing will stay as is.
me Likey!!!

I dont think anyone believes changing pickups is cheating, and if they do, they're wrong. Most people who dont like actives dont like them because they dont sound as natural as passives, and you lose a lot of picking nuances coming through, and they dont usually have very good cleans.
