Noobish question: Whens the next range of J Customs due to be unveiled/released?

Hello there, question is in the title really..

any ideas when? was thinking about buying the onyx black RG J Custom (forgotten the model number! i'm lazy!) but was wondering if i should wait for the new-uns?

April afaik, but im not sure where I got that from...it will be soon enough anyway, cant be any later than may or june, from what i remember last year.

Ishibashi has a few 8270s and 8170 discounted by a small bit, including a black one if i remember rightly, suggesting the new ones will be in soon. When the 2006 models are released, you'll pick up a 2005 model at a good price..

i doubt the new ones will be a return to the old spec (maple fingerboard binding etc.) so if you really have to get a new one, best to just keep an eye out for a cheap 2005 model.

J-Customs make thier debut at the Tokyo Guitar Show(late fall, early winter), so if you're waiting for the next wave it'll be some months away. As far as I know, all the 2006 models are out and the only new J-Custom for 2006 is the RG8470 which is a low-production model much like some of the earlier J-Customs.

In case your wondering, Japan does NOT unveil new models at NAMM, they get to see the new toys a few months ahead at thier own domestic trade show.

I overheard an Ibanez regional rep telling a couple of employees of one of the stores I frequent that 2007 will be a special year for the US as far as Ibanez goes! They are working on something J. Custom like if not actual J. Customs for the US and there WILL BE a JEM anniversary model.
