I ordered a MRB RG1570L today and it should arrive around Thursday! I can't wait. I was originally going to order the black model but the dealer I bought it from got a deal on the MRB version so I went with that one. I've only seen the MRB guitar at non-US internet stores so I was surprised to find I could get one. Frankly, I'm sick of black-only lefty guitars so this will be a nice change. Plus, I got it for $80 less than the black model. I had a RG550 back in the day but I sold it. (I used to play lefty with a righty guitar upside down but then switched to true lefty.) I have missed that guitar ever since so I'm super excited to get back on an Ibanez again.
One question, I've heard that the pickups on this baby are nothing to write home about. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what good replacements would be? I don't really want to go EMG because I alady have a guitar loaded with those. I play mostly extreme and
death metal (ala Suffocation, Slayer, Nile, etc.) Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks.
