Thumbs up

Original PGMs

So... I went to see Paul Gilbert last Saturday.

At the end of the concert, we stayed chatting with Paul's tech (can't recall your name, man... but you're the greatest, thanks!!!) and he toured us through all of Paul's rig.

Then... surprise... he picked up the SSS Fireman and put it around my shoulder!!!

Then, the PAF-loaded sunburst PGM:

And, finally, the Sustainer-loaded plywood top/bottom PGM:

Lucky man?

Just what I was going to ask!...Please tell of the set-up...

Also (am I'm not being cynical here) but in the age of internet forums this is a good way of discreetly introducing new models to the shred guitar-buying public. A heck of a cool way to advertise....but still publicity nonetheless...a win-win situation

The fact that you guys are aloud to touch those guitars is absolutely brilliant!! Great memories for ya, many congrats!

Thick neck and an amazingly light body!
And yes, he said it will be released next year by Ibanez.

I said "plywood top/bottom"... made to look like a wooden crate. It's an ash guitar sandwich.
Amazing tone! Really thick body there!

Low. To be 100% honest, they felt like one of my guitars!
Only a much better feel regarding the neck. They felt like butter...

Here's Paul's pedalboard:

Then, this went into a Marshall Vintage Modern 2x12" combo...

Not that I'm a klutz or anything, but I'd be crapping my pants that I might drop one of the Lord and Saviour's beloved axes.

Still, I'm going to go for it

Congrats bud, I can't wait for the Manchester VIP!

I asked Paul's tech (the long haired blonde dude) what would Paul say if one of his guitars got stolen. Do you guess what he answered me?

"He'd probably not worry at all... he has hundreds of them back home and he'd just have someone send him another."
