Part of the Prestige family atlast!
So, I wake up this morning and it's the big day. I'm off to get the guitar that's been tainting my fantasies for the last 2 years, the Ibanez RG 1570, I can finally afford it!!! Just everything about this guitar is fantastic, I got it setup at the store and the action is near non-existant, plays smooth as ice and I'm in love with the
Edge Pro trem
. I've abused the whammy Bad Horsie style, divebombed like a stuka and it retains tuning. Best. Trem. Ever. Now, for the finish, which I was a bit shaky about after seeing pics of on the net, IT LOOKS MARVELOUS. Pictures honestly cannot do this dynamic guitar justice, you have to see with with your own eyes to believe it. The neck is VERY thin, Ibanez spews no bullcrap about the Wizard neck, it's what everyone claims to be, the best. The pickups are the only problem I have, not hot enough for me, though they pickup harmonics with ease. Overal, an awesome guitar and the best you can get for the money. Buy the Ibanez RG1570 if you're looking for an awesome second guitar you could potential upgrade to an awesome level. I'll do a proper review sometime later. And now for the pics:
I'm one happy man
Welcome me to the Prestige family!!!

Re: Part of the Prestige family atlast!
I used to play that model at the store where I teach and I really liked it. It was a heavy motherf*cker, too. Is your guitar heavy?
EDIT:
Heavy as in literally... heavy. Not heavy in sound. lol

No, not at all. Basswood is one of the lightest out there. Maybe you played a different model...

I think you bought the wrong color of 1570, or you should change your name to blueaxe.

No, it was that model. I guess some guitars are just heavier than others. My friend's 3120 is much lighter than mine, for example.

Re: Part of the Prestige family atlast!
Congrats man. Hope you get many years of enjoyment out of her! Blue DiMarzio's would look killer in that guitar, I think.
I also joined the Prestige club yesterday, my RG3120DR finally turned up... and it's amazing! This is hands down the best guitar I have played or owned. Pics to follow soon... though most of you will know the model I'm talking about, it's traditional to post lots of juicy pics! w00t!

Re: Part of the Prestige family atlast!
The Wizard really shocked me with it's thinness, I have huge hands with long fingers so my reach is amazing, but it's gonna take some getting used to. My previous was a GIO Ibanez, so this is a major jump heh
EDIT: As for pups, I'm thinking ToneZone bridge, Blue Velvet middle,
PAF Pro neck
. All pink to get that PGM100 style contrast

Re: Part of the Prestige family atlast!
Ah, same pickups as mine except for the middle (mine has no middle pickup). It's a good combo, for sure.
