Phony J.Custom? [RG-ARCH]

I've never seen a J.Custom with that small text J-Custom and "Certified with Advanced Technology" headstock logo...is this rare or a phony?

And if J.Customs are primarily for the Japan market (aren't they?), why would they put all that English text on it?

The guitar looks fine to me. And yes, even though the J-Customs are for the Japanese market the script is in English. Maybe they just like the way English looks, or it may be the fact that English is the worlds most used language, who knows?

That's one of the original J Customs from before they started making hundreds and hundreds of each one. That's the original headstock sticker/inlay/whathaveyou. Rich would know better (duh!) but that BIN seems pretty reasonable considering the rarity of the instrument.

It looks fine to me. The price doesn't seem that bad either for an older J-Custom.

It's an RG-ARCH1. I've had (2) of them

Very nice guitars - the only arched-top RG made prior to the RGA-series. The only issue that I ever had with them was that the finish (at least on one of the ones that I had) seemed very susceptible to hazing. It was almost as if it was "pitting", kind of like a tremolo does after having been sweated on for years.

But, the one in the auction is obviously a "player" guitar anyways, so who cares?

Decent price - I paid $1100 for my first near-mint one and $1700 for my second, dead mint one.

There is still possible that they made 17, just because three of them have been identified doesn't mean they didn't make more.

Yeah, I know you try to imply there are more out there - deliver proof instead of yapping about production totals.

kinda a little off topic. but how many JCs do they make nowadays?? estimation.. obviosuly no one knows the exact. i have a 2003 8527VV.. is the number closer to 100 or 10000 or 100000, cause i'm looking to sell it sometime soon. just about in mint condition.. got belt minor belt rash and one knick in the back. if it's close to 100 production i can probably do pretty well on the sale

they make as many as distributors order in Japan which would be closer to hundred (or much less) than thousand.

100,000... LOL... we're still a couple years away from 50k JEM sales total since day-1... glen
