Re: Pics of My RG2550EX with Sustainiac
Wow, well done dude! It looks factory! I'm even more impressed that the quick access battery hatch is there too. It's a cool feeling when you've it on, isn't it? Wait until you're around other guitarists and they're trying to figure out your sustain. It's great fun. The secret is not to tell them :-)
Owen.

Re: Pics of My RG2550EX with Sustainiac
Very clean installation! Impressive work. I still wish i'd picked up a seven-string Sustainiac while they were still available.

Re: Pics of My RG2550EX with Sustainiac
Hey, I have questions.
1. Is that a
mirrored pickguard
? Or solid color?
2. Do you get any noise when the sustainiac is off? I've been running into an issue with it in mine (2550egk), where it sounds great with the unit on, but when you turn it off theres a ton of grunge in the signal.
The technician who installed it said he spent a lot of time on the phone with the dude at manic music, and together all they could come up with was the mirroed pickguard was the culprit.
I'm not sure what to make of it.

Then why are you playing a guitar with a pickguard and a floyd? It does change the tone but look at a guitar like flo that vai uses. Insanely beautiful tones not to mention the tons of fernandes guitars out there that sound amazing. On top of that acoustics have less wood than an electric? what about them :P

Re: Pics of My RG2550EX with Sustainiac
Yes it is a mirror pickguard, and when we were scratching the foiled cover we found the mirror finish was the same fact, so i decided to try isolating it with a plastic layer, and i think it worked, have not noise at all.

actually its routing, and if you can't do it by yourself (as i couldn't) get an expert with that to help you. If i had a lower quality guitar maybe i could try it myself but not my prestige or a JEM neither, Ned was so brave!!
