Yeah it is for sure an RG-ART1.
It's one of the J-Custom designs that was released along with the RG Metal,RG Arch and RG Gear etc.

I personally like the RG Gear the most just because it's so different to see an RG with a machined top and headstock like that.
I don't know how comfortable or practical the Gear would be to play though,but it looks great!

No problem, shredfreak. I bought here in 1986, so she has her share of normal wear. It was also modified back in 1988. However, I think she cleans up pretty nice for a 20 year old guitar.

Thanks for the pics man! Your Strat looks absolutely fantastic! I have always loved Stratocasters with black pickguard and HSS configuration.

I received my RG2720QMVV from Rich (Ibanez Rules!) on Friday but I'm not going to post news pics of it until I get the zebra Tone Zone and Air Norton installed next week. She's a beaut thought.
