Prestige 2550Z tremolo parts

i recently brought a RG2550Z. But after few months i found some problem in my tremolo bar. When i open the back, i found a "washer" is broken below the tremolo bar ends. I tried to search the exact part number in ibanez site, but i couldn't because there were no pictures to verify. This washer fit between a screw and a clip (clip that stabilize the tremolo bar).

So, could anybody get me part number for that washer?
OR Any place that i could find it .. like RadioShack or sth like that?

Furthermore,
I also want to get the part no. for following:
the clip and the whole tremolo bar

(FYI: RG2550Z has Edge Zero Tremolo)

PS. I am also wondering why Ibanez don't have proper customer service contact number. Weird!

Re: Prestige 2550Z tremolo parts

um, i think i saw a post from rich somewhere saying that the washer is not even necessary and i wouldn't be surprised if that was true. just try without it.

ibanez don't have proper customer service because then every person with a niggle on his ibanez would email them. and that amounts to a hell of a lot of emails.

What does this say for Ibanez quality, or attitude? Other guitar manufacturers have customer service email and some even have their phone contact details made available.

Ibanez has a customer service email, but they make it hard to find. I forget what it is, I have emailed them before & gotten quick responses from them too.

Re: Prestige 2550Z tremolo parts

Homebake: Thats is completely wrong.. DO NOT TRY USING TREMOLO WITHOUT THAT 'BLOODY' PLASTIC WASHER.!!!!! otherwise you gonna have to change the whole tremolo bar and clip.

If you don't have that washer then the tip of screw won't let the tremolo ends to get in ( so that clip can fit into the groove). So if you use it and of course the clip will be hard and it will scrap itself and tremolo near the groove.

I finally got their customer support number. 1-800-669-4226.
They will ask your Guitar Model number and Serial Number.

I think will try Lowe's, before going through Ibanez, because it seems like they will gonna charge a lot for a damn washer.

One more thing, as i already mentioned, they didn't provide any parts images for new model.
Ibanez guitar --> awesome!!
Ibanez support --> sucks!!

(If you guys want to see the parts that i am talking.. let me know.. i'll post images of my tremolo set.)

Metanil.

Re: Prestige 2550Z tremolo parts

Man, I cn hardly understand what you're talking about.

There is no washer between the bar retainer spring screw and the spring on an Edge Zero. There is a plastic cover, that does absolutely nothing, I have no idea what engeneer came up with this thingt that is useless. It's the same bar spring design they're used starting with the EDGE and there has never been a need for a plastic spring "cover", but evidently, there is now? If that is the part you're talking about it's useless and does not need replacing.

This is the locking screw for the Studs that hold the trem in place. Used for blocking any further adjustment (lowering the trem block) into the body route so that your dont lower the action accidentally and get fret buzz. Some how Ibanez puts it in a tiny plastic bag and ships with the allen keys and trem arm.

Wondering how it was inside your guitar and fell off .. or did you find it lying in the guitar case ?

If you want to install this tiny screw you will have to dismantle your trem. I suggest not doing it your self but get a technician to do it if you have never done it before. If you guitar is working fine and action is satisfactory, leave it alone and dont bother. Not every thing you find needs to be screwed in .

Yeah, those are the stud locks...I went ahead and put mine in when I got the guitar. I thought it was kind of funny they sent them in a bag instead of installing them.

well they took them out of the EP because so many clueless people don't know how they function and break them in the edge/lopros so as a compromise with the EZ, they give them to you, but you have to install them.
