Prestige 3120 Advice!

Hello everyone

Just to get some feedback....currently i have had my Ibanez 2001 3120 for the longest time....guitar is in exelent shape...never gets out of tune , when i say never i mean like Never, right now she has a EMG 81/60 combo and for me its a superb combo....i love the sound and out of all the guitars i had is the one i love the most....but

I was considering trading it for a non trem guitar, as much as i love my baby.....i never use the trem and i was thinking of trading it for a guitar that suits my needs more....but im afraid i wont be able to find a guitar like this, with its flawless arm action, never going out of tune and the arm feel and the neck....and not to mention its beauty

What do you guys suggest i do.. im just looking for some advice... i love my baby, but i never use the trem and its a pain in the %$$ everytime i want to change strings and when a string breaks middle of play...

I could buy another guitar but my current student status is not letting me.

Thanks in advance.

Funny

I have an RG3120TW from 2000 (I use the trem) and itīs an amzing instrument. To tell you the truth.......I have tried some other stuff cause they stopped making it at some point.......bought Fender strat custom shop, Gibson les paul Custom and some others. At this point, I still have my RG and the Fender CS (which is going to be sold).

Iīm 100% convinced that itīs more than difficult to find a better guitar and I actualy want 1 or 2 more, so I am looking at J-custom at this point. I just canīt find one that looks right

My advice is...............keep it and be happy that you have one of the finest instruments made (even if you donīt use the trem)

If you are happy with it, then keep it.

Re: Prestige 3120 Advice!

yeah the guitar is so nice....ive had american deluxe fenders, i had a Jem and a industrial, satchs, wolfgangs ,gibsons , esp and LTD deluxe..... so many guitars, yet no guitar comes close to the 3120....

is there like a really viable way of stopping the trem so it dosnt float??? or atleast make it one way like the old jacksons and the wolfgangs

Re: Prestige 3120 Advice!

I recently bought a NOS RG3120 and it is awesome. Unless you want to sell it and buy an RGA which is a fixed bridge with the same neck, keeping it is the sensible thing to do.

If you don't use the trem, just get a piece of wood shaved/sanded to the proper dimensions and block the trem. And, presto, an RG3120 fixed bridge with fine tuners.

Good idea, inexpensive and easy to remove if you want to use the trem.

If I ever have the money when a red one comes up I'd buy it again. I loved everything about that guitar except the trem. It's too bad my car died and I had to raise money quick.
