Prestige hard case - odd smell!

I noticed that my guitar stinks after it's been inside its case, part of the case does too, I hate to say it, but it smells as though something has pissed in it!

My wife thinks it is just the glue used in its construction, but it does not smell like that to me! It's only in one corner of the area that hold the body of the guitar also.

if it is the materials used in the construction of the case, then others out there would have noticed the same thing, has anyone??

The new water based solvents that TKL started using about a year ago smell like rotting flesh. I had to keep my Martin case opened up in the basement for 2 months. Leaving it out in the sun didn't help.

Interesting, when I opened the control cavity plate on my 2570 I noticed a strange smell, I have been around guitars all my life, opening them up to do re-wiring and that sort of thing, seems each guitar company has a signature smell, but my other Ibanez, a 1570 only has a slight smell, but when I open up my 2570............ it stinks. ( but it sounds great and plays great and looks great so that's all that matters). Not a big deal I just wonder if it's the same smell as in your case.

It's probably the glue, I had a friend who had a Les Paul. It's case smelled like ass.

It's a feature. But seriously, did you buy it used? I have come across some fouls smelling cases, but they have all been used.

Yeah my prestige case smells weird, but not like a funk more a sterile weird thing.

My Prestige case stinks too and I don't have any pets! Also after 1 gig one of the hinge pins fell out. Seems a bit shabby considering how much my guitar cost.
