Prestige RGT3120
The purple is just too good!
I really like this guitar, just the finish is making my mouth water, it is gorgeous!
More incentives to stay of the cigs methinks...

Very nice guitars. I noticed the body colour fades out on the neck... what's the finish on the rest of the neck? Gloss urethane? Satin urethane? Prestige oil finish?
Too bad they didn't scrape the body edges for the natural binding look... or did they? It's hard to see in the photos.
Why can't they do one of these in
QUILTED maple
? Ibanez must have a few forests worth of
flame maple
planks in their warehouse. I just can't stand that straight flame pattern. if you're gonna go with figured wood, go big or go home.
(Burl walnut, anyone?
)
Also, i must commend Ibanez for making some
very
nice colour choices. It seems that every "rock guitar" is some variation of black, white, red or blue. Nice to see a richer, more tasteful colour palette. Is that dark brown really dark brown? It looks very orange in the photos.

whoever said GUITAR OF THE SHOW is right about this one
It would, however be close RUNNER-UP if a
fixed bridge
sibling were announced  ...glen
Amen to the fixed bridge idea. I love the RG10's, and PGM90's. I have a 421, and I wish they made higher end
fixed bridge guitars
. (The JS2000 is nice, but not my cup of tea due to the neck shape).

I thought the same thing about the JS neck untill i tried playing one for a while... now i own the guitar
Going from a wizard to the JS felt a bit strange, but bareable.. after a while it felt completely natural. Going back to the wizard felt horrible
.. I suppose it's down to personal preference more than anything.. but i now much prefer the thicker neck.

The new RGT's are way cool!!! Neck-through guitars have great sustain and tone. Until I got into Jems/UV's, I've always felt bolt on neck guitars were cheap. But now an RG Prestige with a neck-through... man oh man! I can't wait to get my hands on one of those babies! I'll bet they sound super sweet. I love the Violet and it will be my color of choice when I order mine. The Dark Brown is pretty nice also, it sort of resembles the 3120-DR with more of a tobacco look. I've been considering two guitars... an RG3120-DR or a neck-through
Jackson soloist
for some time now, but not anymore. I've always wanted a flamed top with a bound body & neck, and Ibanez has finally come "through". Hehehe --rvj

Wow. *Might be my next RG...dig the brown one. *I have the same question as Darren about the
neck finish
...it almost looks to me like it blends into a satin or oil finish (fingers crossed).
Doesn't look like a scraped binding.
JMP neck.
And yes, quilt would have been nice.
All in all, thanks to Ibanez for responding to player desires and requests!

The faux binding is on the body, but just not quite as in your face. I'll have to look at the last batch of pics I took but I don't think I got any macro shots of it. It's not masked all the way, on the Violet (which is more a rich plum purple) the binding color is just a few shades lighter, but still violet.

Sorry, the color of the pics is pretty darn close to reality. It's a brown, but I wouldn't have named it Dark Brown.

All i know is me want one NOW! *I like the other color better, the TDB one, it brings out the flame more...when do the guitars usually hit stores? *The only thing that i would change is the pickups, i would put in a breed in the neck and evo in the bridge...but thats just me

So what's the scoop on the neck finish, Rich? Satin urethane? Oil? (please say oil)

I haven't gotten around to it but my first ever Honorable Mention for a Korean Ibanez goes to the RGT42BP which is the Korean made version of the RGT Prestige. Wizzard II neck through, Lo TRS II, inf1 neck and inf2 pups, in Black Pearl, with a list price of $799!! At street price these will make a killer project base, or Prestige substitute for the Dollar challenged

Hmmm... the RGT42BP sounds like it might be a scaled back version of the Japanese Market's RGRT47DX:
