Yeah, the more complicated wirings are definitely confusing. I was actually probably going to go with a particularly complicated one lol, because I wanted to get a push/pull pot to open up more options for
coil splitting
and inbetween tones using the middle single coil. Would you even be willing to do it for me? I could include the set of pickups and the push/pull pot along with the pack of strings (cause I'd definitely need different ones... probably 11-54's... C# Standard haha)
Tim from BK Pickups said he could send me over some wiring diagrams if I wanted him too... so that would make it easier....
Singles are 2 wire, I usually don't charge for them. But any
wiring diagram
would have to match what is in the guitars cavity. Having some manufacturer give you a generic diagram for his pickups and X series switch isn;'t solving my problem when I have no idea what color codes that company uses and how his diagram relates to the switch in your cavity. No wiring diagram, I really don't want the headache.

Re: Question for people who have bought from Rich (IbanezRules)...
Up until today, I would have never considered purchasing a guitar from anyone other than Rich........but then I read his post in the "world on dope" thread and now I'm not so sure
Seriously, Rich is the man!! He truly puts forth a huge effort to set up (etc) and make your instrument the best it can be, period!

Sorry if this has already been answered and your decision has been made. . .
So here is my input:
Rich is the man! - I bought two guitars from him (A J-Custom and UV777). I have never had much luck with 7 strings before I played the one he setup - It was amazing!

Re: Question for people who have bought from Rich (IbanezRules)...
I have been in communication with Rich for about the last 2 months, and I'll tell you right now, the guys is as cool as they come. I know I'm just re-typing alot of what has already been stated here, but hell, the guys killer and I say this after only buying a set of
locking studs
and inserts from him. He has answered all my questions (and I've asked some pretty stupid ones in hindsight) and had nothing but patience and respect given in return. I appreciate the straight forwardness; it save a lot of time.
My next purchase is definately going to be from Rich. I have been geekin' out hard on my next purchase for the last two months and still can't decide exactly what I want. Their all so beautiful! But I am so sick of GC, and out here in Oklahoma, the pickins are pretty slim. I ain't spendin' my hard earned money at GC unless it's for some picks or a set of strings. Everything I have done purchase wise over the last 5 years has been online, and I haven't purchased anything majorly expensive. But this next one is going to be expensive, so I'm goin' with Rich. And I'm goin' with him based off the COMMUNICATION I've had with him. I want somebody I can actually talk with, not some stupid ass salesman that only cares about his commission. To me it is obvious that Rich does what he does becuase he loves it, and you can't put a price, especially in this day and age, on that.

Re: Question for people who have bought from Rich (IbanezRules)...
I've gotten 2 guitars from Rich and both were amazing set-ups. And I was a hard customer, I had him tune a 777vbk to e flat with 9's!! He was polite enough not to snicker when I requested 9's and that makes him good people
.
Also, the Root Beer I just got from him plays like a dream. I wanted to switch necks out, but I can't bring myself to mess with it because it plays so nice. I'll wait until the strings are rusty enough to make my fingers bleed and I'll switch the necks out
.
Buy from Rich!

Re: Question for people who have bought from Rich (IbanezRules)...
Cool... I think I'm just going to go ahead and order it from him. I'm selling my EBMM JP6 and that should pretty much cover the cost of the guitar.
Now I just gotta figure out what to do about installing the pickups & push/pull pot for coiltapping. I'd definitely rather have it come all set up and ready to go, so I don't have to look around for someone to install the pickups and not have them screw up the trem setup :/
Rich, I'll talk to them and see if they can give me a diagram of exactly what I'll need for specific switch and pots... might just replace all of the electronics with a switch you're familiar with if that would make it any easier. I don't mind buying the electronic parts... they're all real inexpensive...

Re: Question for people who have bought from Rich (IbanezRules)...
Then you're not talking about a simple pickup install but a full wiring harness change over with a complicated wiring scheme.
The final adjustment shipping will do it's own number on, it should always be expected that it'll need more adjustment than not after it acclimates. What you're paying for can't be screwed up by whatever happens to the way it's adjusted
BTW, Thanks to everybody that chimed in

Re: Question for people who have bought from Rich (IbanezRules)...
I perfectly Agree with Rich.......
I get tons of emails a day asking questions/help etc.
I simply don't have time to write long emails explaining every little detail. You just get a short and to the point answer - no bull.
I don't think i've been accused of being "rude", but everyone has a bad day and can be a little short........
If someone is a previous customer, then of course i'll go the extra mile to explain/help as they've already put their money where their mouths are......
Gurj for one, is a good customer and i'm happy for him to call me......
I had one guy a month o r so ago, who bought ONE jem switch and expected me to write him out a full wiring diagram, pots pickups switch and jack......... with some extra switching he wanted on it. When i said the service wasn't free and i didn't have time......... he spat his dummy out......... saying he spends £3000 a year on guitar gear - not with me he doesn't!!!

Well, looks like i have to be the one to throw a monkeywrench into the works. Setting up a guitar is not rocket science. In fact, if you are a player, the sooner that you understand the process the better. Then again, if you have a preference for being dependent upon others...

Well setting up may not be rocket science, but I definitely would not want to tackle fret issues like Rich does.

Like many things in life, skills vary from one person to the next. I think I'm decent at setup (by necessity
), but I wouldn't presume to think of myself as better than some of our talented locals.
That and I HATE soldering!!! :P :P :P
I seem to end up doing a lot of that too, though... :P

I can set up my own guitars just as fine, but when you get a brand new tasty looking Jem through the mail, do you really want to spend time tweeking it, or do you want to plug it in and go effing nuts with it
?
I think i speak for a lot of people by saying that getting a guitar fully set-up is fresh new start. Sometimes i've had to return guitars because after setting it up perfectly , there were a lot of problems with the guitar. Even some cosmetic issues on a new finish. Rich does all of that with his inventory so it's safe to say that you'll never end up with a guitar that doesn't satisfy you in terms of quality and clean set up from rich. Some people just moan about him not polishing rectums over email exchanges. And it's better that way.

If I were Rich, I would be adding another person to my list of banned customers.
Then again...I can be an @ss at times.
Maybe this is one of those times.
