Question on Ibanez RG2610E tremelo
Can anyone tell me what tremelo came with this model? I see descriptions that say either edge III or edge pro tremelo. Did they make them with both? I thought the edge III was the cheap trem used on the lower end models, not the prestige series. Thanks

Definately the Edge Pro. Great trem and great guitar. Here is a pic of mine. See clearly an Edge Pro.

ero. Basicly it's the same guitar, but to make things easier, they renamed it with the new trem (and it was by 2008 ).

It means that the OP who lives in South Carolina is much more likely to find a
2610E
than the Z model. Had he lived in Japan I would not have posted

Actually, the RG2610Z is easier to find since it is the newer model relacing the RG2610E. Her is the specs listed which is why I was asking about the edge pro and edge III.
Ibanez Electric Guitars - RG2610E
This Ibanez RG2610E is a complete metal machine! It's loaded with a single, hot Seymour Duncan TB-10 bridge pickup, and one volume control - and you won't believe where you can take this. The precision double-locking trem insures you can attack with confidence. This is an extremely well made guitar with a super fast neck, cool, very sleek styling, great sustain, and of course the eye-catching shark tooth position inlays. This Ibanez RG2610E serves as great guitar for some fast shredding. Hard case included.
Specs:
Body Basswood
Frets 24/Jumbo frets
Fingerboard Bound Rosewood Finger Board
Bridge Edge III bridge
Also with hardshell case

Re: Question on Ibanez RG2610E tremelo
Yup, totally wrong.
There has never been a Prestige with a Edge III, but who knows, maybe next year

Fair enough, but I just checked: It was a 2008 US model. They dropped the whole RG2000 series for the US this year, probably in favor of the 3000 models that aren't released outside of the US.

Re: Question on Ibanez RG2610E tremelo
The 2610Z was not an 08 US model. The E was discontinued and the Z was available in Japan. There was no single humbucker RG for 08. It may now be an 09 model I am not sure of that. The 2610E is still available at several online retailers such as AMS and Musicians friend. I believe the going rate for a new one is now like $799.

Well, it is in the 2008 US catalog, on the Namm 2008 page of ibanezrules.com and actually Rich is still selling one (with the anotation: 2008 model clearance). It could be me, but it still looks like it was a 2008 model for the US.

USA 2007: RG2610E
USA 2008: RG2610Z
USA 2009: RG2610Z
So what's the general consensus? 07 model with the Edge Pro > 08/09 model with the Edge Zero ?
Here's the 08 USA catalog page:

Not entirely: All the RG1000 series models (RG1570, RG1527, RG1820X etc.) kept the Edge Pro (and its variants such as the Double EP) in 2008 and even in 2009. All the other RG Prestige models went from Edge Pro to Edge Zero (so that obviously excludes the ones that didn't have a Edge Pro in the first place and signature guitars such as the JEM). For instance: all RG2xxxE models became RG2xxxZ in 2008, the RGT220A --> RGT220Z, RGT320Q --> RGT320Z.
