Posted here a while back about a Trans red Lacewood/Mahogany body I picked up.
So far I have obtained the Gold hardware (off a VWH, thanks Jay), A neck off of a 450 WH, a Steves special and an
Air Norton.
I have the neck, hardware and pickups all on. strung it up to check the neck out and it is wonderfully straight. Didn't need the shims. The intonation is out a bit, but that will be for another day. This is the first time I have bought a neck on e**y and am pleasantly surprised.
With the exception of the vine (this neck has the triangle inlays, not the lightningbolts just the sharkfin) on the neck and a trans pickguard this guitar will look exactly like Vai's Red Lace. I believe red lace was a
flame maple top. Mines Lacewood. Oh well. Can't wait to hear it.
Yeah, I know, the neck quality from Vais to mine is a little bit of a stretch but it is straight and plays really nice. Should be finished up this weekend.
