refinishing my rg3120


hey guyz
i`m refinishing my guitar
i can almost everything but this thing
--------refinishing the head stock---------
i think i have to repaint it or something, "prestige" is almost gone but "ibanez" still the same
and don`t ask me how that happent ...long story with a pissed off guy...lol
watever
so i can say that i just wanna re paint "prestige" if it possible cuz u kno the ibanez logo is really cool and i doubt i can get the same one,but the prestige was only written very basic different than the ibanez logo
guyz,,,i have no idea bout refinishing the headstock , so i want u to share your experieneces with me stip by stip

Theres a guy on eeeeebaaay that sells stick on ibanez logos for all models.Simply buy the prestige logo version and cut off the prestige part and stick it on. He's got nothing listed at the moment but keep checking. Search 'ibanez headstock decal' ,'ibanez logo decal' etc.

I believe corey's refering to "decals" as opposed to "stickers".


The decal is applied over the paint of the headstock THEN you apply clearcoats.


This will seal the decal under the finish and it will be impervious to wear within reason.

apply decal over the head stock then apply clearcoats = will stay on like the ibanez logo ?!?! :S is that magic?
if there`s somethin like this , hope u show it 2 me or show me sumthin done with it
i`m really happy 2 hear somethin like that!!

well i think you are talkin bout those cheap tattoos ,,those u can apply them for couple of weeks,,,i didn`t use any though,,but u kno chicks do that

but , would it stick on the headstock better than stickin on their bodies? lol

This is an orange aftermarket Ibanez decal cleared over a purpleheart veneer, it isn't going anywhere.

but guyz,how did the factory print "ibanez" logo , i mean the original that comes with our guitars,,,how did they do it ?

I believe people make their own. Easy enough to make a photoshop template of the logo to prety much perfect size and the rest is just having equipment able to reproduce a decal based off that design.
