RG 20071 HBK.

I just got a brand new unplayed RG 20071 HBK guitar. Where the natural neck binding meets the finger board it seem a little rough. Like when you plane wood,up the grain. Its worst on the top side of the neck around the 12th fret to the 24th. This is typical as its just where you look when playing. At first it really bugged me, but after 8 hours of playing it yesterday I am now in love with it, rough bits an all.

It has not been done after it left the factory because the finish is perfect. Like I say its like the wood did not respond to planning and sanding.

I would never get rid of it cause it plays so damn well and looks amazing, though I wish it did have a perfectly smooth binding its my new love.

Has anyone else got one of these guitars with the neck like this? Or another Ibanez like this? Was my guitars neck made last thing friday night?

I'm going to shut up and play it now !

Any feedback on this would be cool.

You sure it's not the lacquer ? Try a very fine grade of emery paper on it.

See the difference in finnish between the lower neck and upper neck ? I know the pics are a bit blurry. Thank my main pc for breaking and my laptop not working with my main camera (I had to use my mobile phone to take pics). The finnish is flawless and shows no signs of these marks being done after it left the factory.

Anyone else had this on an Ibanez? I have only ever played and owned bound necked banez guitars so I am not sure if this is normal. It still plays good though.
