Rg 2550E and RG 2570 and pickup change

Hey, im going to buy either an RG 2550E or a RG2570 so i just wanna ask some questions. What does everyone think of them? And is it just cosmetic differences? Will the metal pickguard on the 2550E stain? Lastly i would like to change the pickups as loads of people recommend it. I was thinking of putting some EMG 81 and 85s in, a good idea or not?

Thanks

P.S. this is my first locking bridge guitar, do you think ill be able to handle the edge pro's matinence?

As for the bridge, you'll manage. It's gonna be boring though
Dont change the pickups untill u try them. A lot of people here like them. So keep them and then decide if u wanna switch them or not
And i think dimarzios would be better than EMGs in a basswood superstrat but im not sure. No experience with any of those pickups

It's only a good idea if you don't like the DiMarzio's that come with the guitar. Give them a chance and then decide.

Re: Rg 2550E and RG 2570 and pickup change

thank you for replying and i'll look into the dimarizos but i will see if i like them first. I have just one more question (im a locking trem newbie) if i get my guitar set up for when a certain string size, when i change the strings or one of them snaps will the inotation and action be fine? Would everything be messed up? Or Would i just have to use the fine tuners?

The Pickguard is not metal, its plastic with some aluminum foil behind it.

I just sold the 2550EGK and i have not been to happy with it. Pickups are a matter of preference and the maintenance for the bridge??

No you can impossibly handle it, extremely complicated and one needs at least a masters in engeneering for it .

intonation wont move when you bust a string, the action wont move either but the trem will shift if you snap a string or change to a different gauge. plus i would say change the pickups , mine came to life when i did that , not that it was bad but it got a whole heap better

Yeah, changing strings is easy! When one breaks, it sends all of the strings out of tune because, as it's a floating trem, there's a balance between string tension and spring tension. If it bothers you, buy a Tremol-No. It's especially useful in live situations -- with the Tremol-No you can carry on playing in tune.

so like when i break or change a string my tremolo will be at an angle but as soon as i put some strings on there it'll be fine and ill just have to use the fine tuners? Also can you pull up on the edge pro you like steve vai and co do? thanks for all the help and sorry about the n00b questions, i cant find my answers so i thought i'd ask.

came to life??? what pups did you pop in it? i also have a GioRG which i have a set of SD´s on it the distortions set and it did came alive.

The 2550 and 2570 are alike the only a few things change between them, looks, one has a pickguard and the finish in both guitars are cool, the vital silver looks awesome and the galaxy black looks amazing, i like both guitars but i only have the 2550, which BTW i like the stock pups, they're pretty cool.
