RG Ibanez 610 - Bit of feedback if your interested ;)

I tried one of these at Windows Music in Newcastle yesterday through a little vox amp, sounded better than any ibanez i've picked up recently.

Its the first time i've used an SD Full Shread pickup, i really liked it, the guitar really screamed.

Its a bit of a "One trick pony" as i've heard some people say, but if you only play metal its awesome.

Im actually considering buying a Full shread, i've always used dimarzio pickups but that sounded awesome in the RG, anyone know of a decent SD to compliment it which can give nice warm cleans in the neck?

I really fancy buying it, i didnt like it when it was released but after playing it, i want one but for £720 its not really versatile enough for what i want.

If it was about £500 i'd have got one.

Anyone else played/own one?

I tried one myself at guitarguitar in Newcastle, and it was great if ya mainly play metal, cos it's ready to rock straight away. I didn't like the full shred that much though.

There is one on the bay now, # 280114320856

I keep nearly hitting the buy it now button, but something is putting me off.

Only thing that put me off was the versatility, i loved the sound and the playability.

Wow, it is nearly $300 more expensive then most US dealers sell for.

The guitar is a rip off and it's not versatile enough. Lower the price and put a single coil in the neck, and I'd buy one.

It sounds worse because of the high exchange rate (+/- $2 = £1) A while back it would've worked out at more like $1200.

A single coil in the neck would look gross IMO !!! A coil tap on the humbucker would be useful though. And a 30% price reduction of course !!

It's meant for one reason though, to just plug in and play some metal, and if some don't like it then fair enough. There ain't no point moaning about the versatilty or what it can and can't do. Price is sh*t though, I would take it if I can get one for around 400 quid though.
