rg1527

I'm close to buying an rg1527 and I have two questions:

What would be the best price and is there an online link?
Is it a well built 7 string?

It's a great guitar! The only two problems I had with mine: average pickups and the finish chips easily. However, with a Duncan 59 and JB, it's perfect! I don't play any of my other guitars anymore coz my 1527 does everything I want it to do.

What price have you found it available for?

Re: rg1527

I find Ibanez pickups underrated and I find the best sound I get from my amp anyway.

I'm very careful with my guitar and I don't have a single scratch on any of mine so I don't have big worries about the finish qualitiy.

The cheapest I've found was $1600 aus, I want to get maybe 1200-1300 if it's possible, but 1600 isn't too much of a stretch. Oh and I forgot by prices I meant aus price.

Re: rg1527

$1600 is a good price for a new 1527 if you can get it, the RRP on them jumped to something like $2895 with the 2009 prices, so going by that it's a steal. The early 2008 RRP was $1995 so $1600 would make it 20% off which is about standard. The new 'street' price in Aus is gonna be about $2300 unless they are clearing 'old stock'.

Again if it's new you might get lucky and get it for around $1500, also make sure that it comes with the case at that price.

If it's a 2nd hand/Used 1527, I wouldn't pay more than $1200, even in light of current price rises.

Hope that helps.

Alternatively you could maybe spend a bit more than $1600 and get Rich to ship you one from Ibanez Rules, although I don't know what the import duties would cost once it got into the country. (Over $1000 Aus and we get pinged)

That way you could get a sweet 1527 in white with the maple fretboard........*drools* :-)

*throws up* more like, I can't stand the grain on maple fretboards, and I prefer the blue sparkle over white, and I can probably get $1400 if my music shop has the 1527 or can order it in.

EDIT: I actually love the AT100 maple fretboard.

Yeah I checked a couple of days ago, thanks Rich, I am considering buying it off you because everyone swears by your service, and I'll be wanting a hardtail rg soon.

I know, I remember a year or two ago when our money was barely worth more than US.
