RG1570 vs. RG2570
while in australia, i sold my '05 RG1570 for a very good price, which would enable me to replace it with a RG2570 should I so choose.
my question is, though: what are the real differences between the two IF a pickup replacement is on the cards for both? (so disregard the IBZ vs. V-series pickup argument).
i mean, i realise that the 2570 has the bound neck and 'tooth inlays versus the 1570's rather plain but tasteful neck. and obviously the 2570 has the unique textured finish (which, sadly, isn't matched by the headstock anymore!). but is there a difference in quality?
is there any point in going for a 2570 over a 1570 if the intention is to replace the pickups anyway?

Re: RG1570 vs. RG2570
I wouldn't imagine that there is much of a difference in terms of build/quality.
If you just prefer the RG2570 (aesthetic) over the RG1570, then go for it.

Re: RG1570 vs. RG2570
quick question: does the ('05) RG2550 has a bound neck?
And no i don't think that theres much difference between the two...
Only, i think the 2570 looks way better

Any idea why?

Re: RG1570 vs. RG2570
demand and taste , i looked at both and picked the 2550 , i liked it better thats all, imho the textured silver and no pickguard wasnt as nice , hey each to their own though
also just looking the 2550 had the matching headstock on it to not just the black one, i have to say the 2550 looks to me a lot more classy .

Not really, the body is galaxy black which is a lighter mettalic black/blue where as the headstock is plain gloss black.

Re: RG1570 vs. RG2570

Re: RG1570 vs. RG2570
Oh sorry!! I didn't realise you had one! Yeah i meant the 2005 models which AFAIK none of the prestiges have matching headstocks.
Oh and on the orginal question theres NO difference in build quality or parts. They use the same neck (execpt diffent inlays/binding), same hardware and the same bodies (not sure on this one though). the price differnce is in the pickups and the asthetics. Both briliant guitars
. Id get an RG2570 myself but i want a 7-string so i ordered an RG1527 last week! can't wait to see the royal blue paint!

Re: RG1570 vs. RG2570
Built quality and material are the same for both Prestige (1570 & 2570e).
The 2570 has a nice silver bumpy finish and matching
shark tooth inlays
colors.
The 1570 has 2 colors the MRR and the MRB which is kinda interesting finish that changes colors depending on the lighting condition.
Its a matter of visual taste.
Here is some pics of my 05 1570 mrr including my other equipments:
