Rg1620x

hi,

my "new" rg1620x arrived today. nice.

q: the electronics all seem to function fine through the mixed output jack, but when i use the piezo-only output jack on it's own i get nothing. is it a function of the two output jack system that the piezo jack only works in conjunction with the magnetic/piezo output jack and not on it's own?

(having only one amp, i'm unable to test this)

this is gonna be one sweet guitar once i finish setting it up!

Re: Rg1620x

I agree, let's have some pictures!
I think I'm right in saying that there's a switch on the inside of the guitar that switches output modes. It's explained in the Prestige manual found here:

http://www.ibanez.com/support/manual...ige_manual.pdf

The 1620 looks to be one sweet guitar. Congrats on your acquisition! Hope this helps.

nothing exciting to look at. just another metallic black rg with a prestige logo. the fun is in playing it!

Re: Rg1620x

i know about the little toggle switch. but i can't get the piezo-only output to work. piezo works fine through the piezo/magnetic output using toggle switch.

thanks to Awakened Sleeper for sharing the manual with me. it turns out that if you want to use the piezo-only output on it's own, you need to insert a dummy jack into the piezo/magnetic output, as it acts as a power switch.

i guess that means you should always unplug your cable from the piezo/magnetic output when not in use to conserve battery life.
