Tried the same thing and the inter-nation consequences were terrible.

I had economic sanctions coming from Botswana and triggered an arms race with Uzbekistan!

Needless to say, I switched back to drop N# minor and everything was fine again.

For what it's worth, you should have kept the RGA121.

Tremmed guitars are too complicated and fussy to change that drastic of tunings.

If you are really stuck on getting something with an RG shape the RGA you just sold was perfect for what you want and maybe since you made some extra dough off the sale, go buy the RGA321. Next choice for an RG shape hardtail would be one of the MIK versions like the RGT6(ex?) that has EMGs from the factory or the Mik Thompson Sig axe.

You will still encounter issues with your neck when changing tunings so drastically no matter which guitar you buy. A guitar is setup according to string gauge and tuning. Once you change one of those you change the setup on the guitar and how the guitar reacts to the stress you are putting it thru.

Re: RG2570 EVSL RGA321F(custom) RGT220A RG2550 ESP Eclipse

Thanks for the info. But..i dont play all the time in one tuning. Its either to cover a coupel of songs or so, then i go back to Standard. The MTM1 (Mick Sig) is a good guitar. But i dont only play metal. Ok. i know this is off topic, but what would the main difference be between a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Studio. The studio is far cheaper. I cant find any used Ibanez right now except for a brand new RG2620, RG2550, some les pauls (standards and studios) and ESP Eclipses. Its really my choice. But abotu the floyd rose thing..So it wouldnt be good if i bought a trem guitar and put a tremol-no on it set it up for standard tuning, put the tremol-no in and tuned down from there?

Just having a laugh mate, I don't normally take potshots like that but I couldn't resist! Anyway, my RG2550 ought to be in any day now so I'll possibly post my thoughts on it.

Studio = No flame top, different p/us, no binding
Standard = Flame top, burstbuckers (but not the good ones for some reason), neck binding

Every studio I've played has been ****, pointy frets, rough frets, sticky poorly applied finish. Ugh. Standards I've played have been slightly more consistent, and have the advantage of neck binding protecting you from pointy frets, but there have been some dogs in there too. They both have holes in the body, both have the same sea of glue neck joint, both have mediocre pickups in my opinion. I've played a couple of historics that were much nicer, but they were much more expensive and had fatass necks. If you want tos ave money and still get a quality lp buy an edwards, tokai, greco, orville. I've only played the tokais but they were much nicer than most gibsons I've played

That said none of this is really of any of use to you because you don't know what you want (big surprise). you seriously couldn't of picked two guitars that were more different. So, why not take the advice you've been getting since your first thread and just PLAY The DAMN THINGS

I did play a studio. I didnt play a standard. I was getting a guitar of e bay but the auction for the rga321f ended and it was alot. yes i no the eclipse and lp are basically the same guitar (diff features). Im not buyign one in the store. Im getting a used one off of e bay that is why i change topics abotu diff guitars all the time.

I can't understand why you sold the RGA121. I mean, it sounds like you got made money, but you're guitarless and stuck, and asking for pretty much a replacement with the same specs. Take a good long look in the mirror, a big breath, buy the RGA121 in a different finish and stop thinking about Les Pauls. Especially studios.

Re: RG2570 EVSL RGA321F(custom) RGT220A RG2550 ESP Eclipse

I sold the RGA because the natural top didnt satisfy me and i made 300 bucks on the guitar. I thought LP studios were amazing guitars. Like i said. Im not knowledgeble like all you pros out there.

You can't possibly ask us to advise you between an rg and les paul, they couldn't be more different. Play them and make up your own mind
