RG2570EX Sticky neck?

I have an RG2570EX, and I was reading the setup section of the site, and I noticed it talked about a sticky finish on the back of JEM necks. Now, I haven't noticed anything much about my neck, but it's a lot less "glossy" than my friend's RG320FM. Will this finish be on the back of my neck, and if so, would it be a good idea to take it off?

I guess it would be how you go about it. I'm no buff (scuse the pun ) but I know that getting it professionally done is the best way. Though if you ask me I wouldn't butcher a guitar in such a way unless there seems to be some actual technical flaw. Anything that's intended to be on the guitar I don't alter unless it's the pickups.
