RG2610 Trem Trouble

I know this has been addressed before, so sorry if I am beating a dead horse. I have a 2610 that constantly will not return to pitch after using the bar. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, I am usually mid song and have to slap or pull the bar to get the guitar back in tune.

I am pretty sure I have it setup properly - trem angle etc.

Any advice?

You can check your trem angle on Rich's tech section on his website, but I woul also recommend "Nut Sauce" or any other kind of lubricate for nuts and saddles, or just use pencil shavings.

Re: RG2610 Trem Trouble

if your trem is set to the right angle, and your springs are not worn out check to see that every screw on the nut is secured firmly(snug not cranked down). first check the nut pressure pads, if they are loose then thats the problem. if your pads aren't loose, check the nut itself. it could be caused by a number of things tho. weakest link kind of thing.i would like to add that alot of trems i've had experience with have trouble returning to proper pitch after up pulls, but that may just be happening to me.

Re: RG2610 Trem Trouble

I know it is not the nut, nor anything above the neck. It has got to be something in the knife edges or springs. The springs shouldn't be worn out - it is pretty much a new guitar.

Re: RG2610 Trem Trouble

loose string saddles? it could be your knife edges, but why would they be worn so quickly on a newer guitar? maybe they just need to be reshaped, or maybe it needs to be worn in some more(springs, and edges).

Re: RG2610 Trem Trouble

Kirk i think rich has been seeing fat knife edges again so yours may be culprit. It seems that touching your bar puts it back in place so i would imagine thats where your problem lies . Anyways if its not the fat knife edges, check out your post, try a set of *trusted* springs, etc.

Re: RG2610 Trem Trouble

I just did a thorough setup and changed the strings, yadda yadda yadda. After the strings stretch a bit I'll try to see if I can isolate the problem. Innovation is great, but I do miss the Edge/Lo Pro Edge.

I think alot of guitarist do. Another revamp of the newer design is in order i think. As i dont recall when the lopro original edge were stock designs that people were complaining about wanting changes
