Rg3570 questions

Hi, I'm thinking of getting an RG3570 in a few months. I have some questions about it first. Has anybody played it and can they describe the sound it produces?
Is the Edge Zero as bad as many say it is?
How close is the guitar neck to SuperWizard specs (and yes, I know about the volute, I doubt that will really bother me)?

Any reviews, thoughts, opinions ect. of the guitar and its hardware would be nice.

Thanks!

Re: Rg3570 questions

as far as tuning stability on the edge zero, i've played 2 EZ equipped guitars for lengthy periods (weeks) and they were both ace at keeping pitch with extreme abuse. that's about all i can comment on.

Re: Rg3570 questions

I have an RG550 and a 2550 and the EZ is a lot stiffer the original edge, it doesn't do to well with the crazy wammy stuff or flutters. I personally don't think it deserves the bad rap that it has, like Homebake said, it stays in tune with abuse, I haven't had a sustain problem, and its super easy to change tunings and adjust intonation. They put them in J Customs, so they have to be decent quality.

Not to sure about the super wizard though. I think I've heard that the frets are wider then the original wizard specs, but I could be wrong. Someone, Rich I think, mentioned that he could barely tell a difference between the super wizard and the prestige wizard (18mm), so there has to be something different from the original.

My 2550 has the same pup combo, Tone Zone/Air Norton, with the EZ and I'm very pleased with the way it sounds, and I love the why the sound, so you won't be disappointed.

Re: Rg3570 questions

I just got my RG3570 after playing my friend's S Prestige with a Wizard neck and man, the tone and playability are fantastic on this thing! Now I'm a bit of an Ibanez noob, so you'll have to forgive me if I sound a bit green when talking about my guitar, but I'm just too stoked to contain myself.

I find that the bridge pickup is very sensitive to dynamics and retains a very pure, cutting and lively guitar tone even with lots of gain (versus my old guitar with EMGs.) The neck pickup is very smooth and warm, although I found the bass output was really freakin high.

The neck is so comfortable. I've only been playing around with my buddy's Wizard neck for a short time, so I don't notice a huge difference between his and my guitar's Super Wizard, but I can tell you that it feels very solid and is super fast. As well, the frets are jumbo and nicely finished.

The Edge Zero bridge is very comfortable for playing palm mutes and for dive bombing. The guitar has stayed in tune for days.

I can tell you that this guitar is going to keep me happy for a really long time. And the blue and yellow coloring looks really flashy in real life.

Get one now!

- Nick
