RG550 Prestige. 2003 ?????

A local here is selling an RG550 Prestige in perfect condition. I'd like to buy it and add it to my collection next to my RG2570.
However....
Is this guy pulling my leg???
I've done some research and it seems like these babies were from late 80's. I cannot find anything about a re-release in 2003... except the recent re-release of the Rg1550.

Could anybody clarify this for me? As i'm somewhat confused and don't want to get duped by this guy.

yeaaah, as far as i can see from the ibanez catalogs, in 2003 the 550's moved on to be called 1550s?

what trem has it got? serial number?

I didn't grab it's serial number. As i only went t have a quick look/play on it.
It is IDENTICAL, to these guitars...(pics below). The case is also in prefect condition with all the attached stickers and stuff from purchase. And YES it is made in Japan.
So i guess this is in fact a RG1550 Prestige..??
