Re: RG760FM

i own Rg770FM which is 'sister' to the mentioned RG760FM, only the 770FM comes without pickguard.
It's a great axe , the neck is very comfortable, i feel more comfortable to any newer prestige RG neck.
the tone is not too great, I mean it's ok for all around musical styles, but if you want to specific to metal, change the pickups dude.

Re: RG760FM

I don't have one, but I would like a HSS guitar with great quality, I do have a RG560, which is not as good as my Jem or Rg2020.
So why am I looking for that guitar? well I'd like strat sound with the neck single coil pickup, and pure Ibanez metal, at the bridge, and why just get a strat? well 24 frets, AANJ, LoPro edge, you got it.

And to psychoshredder;
Is the neck the same as on the JPM?, it does look like it, and it says 42 mm nut in the specs.

kind regards
Tony

Re: RG760FM

Its an outstanding guitar. I owned a 760FM in Deep Black for about 2 years. Only reason I gave it up is because I am a 7 stringer now. Patrick at SCS owns it now.

Re: RG760FM

tony : i never played a JPM before, but JPM neck says compond radius fingerboard, where the 760/770FM are not.
I think there must a difference between those two, but maybe yes! the 760/770FM neck is the closest one if you want to get the feel of the JPM neck.

Re: RG760FM

psychoshredder:
How is the acoustic tonequality of the body?
Is it well balanced and no strings sound worse or better than others?
Can it be compared to a jem or a RG2XXX prestige?

thanks
Tony

Re: RG760FM

the acoustic tone, I mean i play the guitar unplug, the wood tone is OK, i can't find exact word for it, but overall, the resonace is good.

I can tell you that this 760/770FM is better than any prestige RG with ' team J craft' logo on the back of the headstock.
