I'm thinking about changing the pickups in the RG7CT to something with a little more midrange. Anybody have any good ideas?

Tone zone7 in bridge and Air norton7 in the neck. I have that set up and love it in my 1527.

Beautiful guitar
, good luck with it! I have a TZ7 and a PAF7 in my mahogany AX7521, and they sound great together in it. I have a pair of Bartolinis in my 7620, which though lower in output, can basically sound however you want them to. They're pretty neutral with great seperation, so they're very versatile.

Re: RG7CT
I personally own a RG7CT as well... I will be upgrading the pups to a JB-7 and '59. I will let you know how it comes out. The 59' i want in zebra, so it will be more money to order it from the
custom shop
. I'll keep you updated.

Re: RG7CT
This is the ONLY one 7-string more beautiful than the RG2027X!!
What pickups does it have?
And about the plate coverings on the back (the covers of the spring hole and the electronics cavity): they look great! Are them made of real wood (instead of the standard black plastic)?

Re: RG7CT
The cavity covers ARE plastic, but a brown sort of pearloid. Im not exactly sure what it is, but its not wood. Definately a beautiful guitar. Even more so in person.
