Re: RGA Users Unite!

I was going to buy the 321F at first then I went though, "Wait a minute... why spend an extra 300-400 bones just to get a fancy finnish?"

If down the road I have enough money to spend on fancy extras maybe I'll buy one. But I have this weird fascination with natural finishes so the 121 was right up my ally.

Re: RGA Users Unite!

im actually grabbing one at the moment. RGA321F.
im kicking my drummers brother money a bit at a time till i get it. its going really slowly cause im building that rgr470, and frankly, ****s expensive. i just spent 260 post tax on a cosmo black lo pro. anyways, dont kill me, i know it sort of defies the point, but im gonna put a trem in the thing. *takes cover*
i wanted a fixed bridge so i started buying the thing, but i play it once in a while at band practice, and i frankly feel kinda hamstrung without one

Welcome me to the club! I just bought this for $729. I'm thinking it was a good deal...I'm hoping it was a good deal...It's new with all the tags and a hard shell case.

Re: RGA Users Unite!

Nice one lepus I'd personally get some oil on that fingerboard as it looks dry as a bone!

You can't go wrong with Dunlop "Fretboard 65 Ultimate Lemon Oil". Then there's Gibson "Luthier's Choice Fretboard Conditioner" if you want to get the extra step of having a petroleum based product on there.

Re: RGA Users Unite!

Thanks for the recommendations! I see there are several threads on maintaining the fretboards. Lemon oil seems to be a popular choice. I'll definitely be giving it a coat...after I play it for 6 hours straight first

Re: RGA Users Unite!

Roche Thomas Fretboard Oil... it's bore oil... it's the best thing you can put on wood... I just did it myself and it worked extremely well... it's also really cheap... I'd suggest you get that. it's supposed to be much better for the wood than lemon oil.

Re: RGA Users Unite!

Okay, now I'm not sure what to try.

I guess I'll get both and try them out first on my Epiphone Special fretboard before touching The Precious...

My s2170fb could use a cleaning too...

Re: RGA Users Unite!

Roche Thomas or Lemon Oil is what you need. No need to try it on a cheap beater first...just do it. I use Lemon on everything right out of the box....MusicMan Silhouettes, JPs, Suhr....all of that got oiled upfront.
