RGA121 line canceled?

I just checked ***************.com and saw that all of their RGA121 guitars are for sale on clearance. I looked at the Ibanez website and they don't have them listed anymore, only the RGA321's. Does that mean that model has been discontinued?

It seems that you're right.

Yet, another good reason to check the RGA121 NTF I have for sale in the classifieds : )

Re: RGA121 line canceled?

yeah, looks like the 121 has gone been replaced by the 321 which is just as nice.

The problem is that reviewers rag on the fact is has no trem. So? Find a non trem RG that has a decent looking fixed bridge and not the usual rubbish looking item. It clearly works as the PGM has that cheapo looking bridge but the RGA looks the business, IMHO.

Bummer. I am glad I got the RGA121VLF before they stopped making them.

It's a shame that the RGA321F is $1,600! Yeowzer. Happy I have my RGA121VLF.

It wasn't "replaced" by the RGA321, that model has been around since the RGA121 came out, the replacement is the $499US RGA42 which I think is Korean.

It's too bad IMHO. I have always held that the RGA121 was big bang for the buck and one of the best new guitar series in many moons from ibanez. I have always liked my RGA121ntf and am very happy I have it. (Dropping the PGM 301 and not replacing it with something in the same price bracket stinks too).

Re: RGA121 line canceled?

Yeah, this just makes me all the more glad that I got one at a good price. These will be harder and harder to find as the years go by. I don't know why they're discontinuing them, it's a beautiful guitar, and it plays like no other. Except of course other RGs with the same neck. I played an RGA42 before getting my 121, it wasn't bad but it's still MIK, the level of quality is just not there. The transparent black finish sucks too. If they offered the RGA42 in a different color I'd get one and just swap out the neck for a Prestige neck. It seems Japan gets a lot more colors than the US...why Ibanez why?!

Re: RGA121 line canceled?

At this point, RGA321F is most like the discontinued RGA121 in that it is a Prestige model, has the Gibralter Plus bridge and Wizard Prestige neck.
