RGA321/RG321F?

I'm in the market for a new guitar at the moment and I came across the RGA321 which is within my budget and looks perfect (minus the pickups). However, i'm trying to identify if its the same one I saw in this video:
http://www.gearwire.com/ibanez-rg-archtop.html

It fits the description, but the one in the video looks soooo much nicer than the stock pictures on websites like this http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/...rga-321f/66924

Also if anyone owns this guitar, any reviews, comments or pictures would be very helpful.

I was looking at the mick thompson sig guitar which does look absolutely killer but i dont like the inlay really and i dont like the idea of still have string-chaging hassle if I can't use the floating bridge. If only there was a cross between the two i.e. EMGs, blood red with black binding, ebony fretboard, normal inlays, gibraltar bridge etc...

One last question, I will be changing the pickups after I get it, or the bridge one at least, so which pickup would work best in that guitar for chunky brutal rhythms and shredding leads? Need a lot of clarity.

Cheers =)

Re: RGA321/RG321F?

Those guys made an error, they called it the RG321, its really the RGA321. Anyway, definetely check out the RGA series guitars, spectacular guitar, if you absolutely dont need the figured maple top, then check out the RGA121, same deal but without the fancy figured top and its cheaper. Check out the RGA Users Unite! thread i made in this same section for more info and thoughts.

I'd wait if I was you.

Ibanez are releasing some pretty cool stuff this year.
What with new Mick Thompson models, and new RGA models. So I would wait a little while and see what takes your fancy then.

Re: RGA321/RG321F?

What colours will be available apart from the glittery one?

And just seen the other MT sig, looks pretty music exactly the same as the RGT6EX.

Im also considering getting the RGT6EXFX, will there be much difference in quality and playability between that and the RGA? Cos if i did end up getting the RGT, I could use the money i would have saved on getting the RGA and get a Schected C7 blackjack aswell, a guitar i HAVE played and fallen in love with. So would the RGA be worth it or would the other 2 match or better it?

Re: RGA321/RG321F?

RGA121 is a sick guitar and with a flamed top and a thick gloss MUST be even sicker! i love my RGA121.
i say get one but wait and see what new colors are offered at NAMM. i'm daydreaming of a neck-thru version on a flamed or quilted black onyx.

i put a seymour JB/Jazz set in mine. those are a great compliment to the woods IMHO. try the JB/'59 if you play alot of rock/blues/metal.

Apart from the glittery ones, who knows. But dont be put-off by the glitter finish, it will look 1000 times better in person and in real pictures. The Ibanez mockup pics never flatter the guitar.

Then there is the Matt Bachand Signature RGA. Which is a black neck-thru RGA, with stock EMG's. Which again, sounds awesome.

I really love the RGT6EX too. I would love to try one.

Any pics of this Matt Bachand guitar? I've never heard of the bloke but the guitar sounds alright, would get rid of the EMGs though =-/

And HELL YES to whoever suggested a Flamed Black Onyx RGA, with a maple fingerboard that'd be my ideal looking guitar.

http://www.thomann.de/fi/ibanez_mbm1_bk.htm

The logo on the body will obviously not be everyones taste. I am already predicting people moaning about that one. But if you look past that, I think its hot. It looks like it will be pricey, but what signature isnt nowadays? I think it looks great, and I'm sure it will play pretty good too.

Its just another refreshing new alternative from Ibanez in 07. We're spoilt for choice!

that looks cool and you're right about pricey - wheww! i actually dig the graphic but would prefer it not there from the factory so it isn't on every single one.
i'm still excited to see all the new goodies from Ibanez and every other company. NAMM is as exciting as Christmas to a kid for me

Re: RGA321/RG321F?

Man i'm glad I came to this site....that Matt Bachand sig looks sick, I think I may have just found my next axe =)

Not a shadows fall fan so I had no idea he even played Ibanez guitars. Cheers guys.

Still wondering how much better any of the RGA's including this one would be than the RGT6EX?

Thats a decision you'll have to make on your own, lol.

Either take a gamble, or see if you can get to play either of them. Its safe to say though that whichever one you buy you will be getting a good guitar.
