RGT3120 Strap Buttons

I bought a used RGT3120TDB recently and noticed that the strap buttons look like they could be used with strap locks. Do new RGT3120's come with strap locks or is there a certain brand that will work with the strap buttons? If not, I have a set of Dunlop's just waiting. Thanks.

The RGT3120 and the RG3120 comes with a set of Gotoh strap locks. They have a twist type mechanism that I don't particularly care for, so I took them off my RG3120 and replaced them with a Dimarzio ClipLock.

Hey guys how do you like those rg's? They have the set neck right? I must sound different than the bolt ons.

The general opinion is that yes, they sound different, but sound (and feel) great.

Rotti,

I have only had mine for about 4 days, but so far I really like it. It is an absolutely gorgeous guitar. I definitely like the Ultra neck better than the Wizard on my RG570. It is the first neck thru that I have owned, so I was absolutely floored at the access to the upper frets. I also really like the sustain it has. The only thing I haven't made my mind up about is the sound. It definitely sounds different than my RG570 or LP Studio Gothic. A female friend of mine was in another room when I switched guitars (Gothic to RGT) and she could tell a difference in the sound. I am going to play with it a while longer before I decide to change any pickups out or anything.

2 words.....AWE-SOME. i got mine a week ago and did a pickup swap immediately. i already had it in mind . so now it has a air norton and air zone with a custom wiring job i designed. it sounds remarkable and is ALL access. no heel to EVER worry about. on the subject, tho. i swapped straps immediately, too. dimarzio cliplock all the way, baby!!!

I've had my RGT3120TV for quite awhile now, and it's turned out to be one of my favorite players. It's a great playing, great sounding guitar and is probably one of the best-made Ibanez' models that I've owned. Definitely a great offering from Ibanez!

they list for $1999. the average price for retailers is $1499 no case. rich harris has them for under $1400 with a uv1000c. you can find a FEW on ebay for around $1100-1200. excellent guitar, i thank God everytime i pick mine up. special shout outs for mine go out to rich harris, brianh, and korina king for mt rgt3120.
