Rgt320q Vs Rg8270f
I'm thinking about finally spending some of my hard earned cash on one of these two beauties. I was under the impressions that J-Customs were just the gods of guitars and owned the hell out of the Prestige line. After looking around, I found the RGT320Q, which is about the same price, and features a thru-neck. So my question is... is the J-custom still better than this Prestige? I'd really appreciate a listed comparison of the two. Thanks a lot!

Re: Rgt320q Vs Rg8270f
I've had a RGT320Q at work once and found that it didn't play as good as my RG8670 or my RG1880S. Can't quite say how good the RG8270F is since I don't own one, but the fact that the RGT320Q is neckthrough doesn't make much difference for me as my RG8670 with an Arming adjuster installed has more sustain in it than the RGT320Q that I tried(even morethan my neck-thru JCRG-2!!). Personally I'd take the 8270 before the 320Q. I mean, how can you NOT love the vine of life inlay?

Yeah, the vine of life is pretty beautiful.
Do you work in a shop in Toronto or something...? I was just wondering because I live in Toronto, and if you stock any 8670 or 8270 J-customs, please let me know.

Re: Rgt320q Vs Rg8270f
Id take the 8270F, its a lovely guitar. Obviously, its lost a few of the appointments of previous top of the line models (ebony,
maple fingerboard
binding), which is a bit of a bummer, and theres really no excuse for it, but its still a much nicer guitar. However, youre comparing a thru-neck to a bolt on, whats your preference in this regard?
Ibanez should be ashamed of themselves for putting the crappy IBZ pickups in their top of the line
prestige guitar
btw. There more than acceptable for the cheaper prestiges, but in a guitar of this price?

This pic is of my Rg8270F, look at the fret job, its very nice. In my experience ( I have a few other JCustoms), the quality of the Jcustoms is consistently brilliant.
Unfortunately, as you can see, there is no
maple binding
on the fretboard. I do have that on one of my Ibanez's, and its really lovely.
/me kicks Ibanez firmly up the butt

Alot of people hate binding, and I personally prefer a good fretjob and more wood on the neck to binding hands down every time, but to each his own.

Re: Rgt320q Vs Rg8270f
Yeah... I wish they'd re-release an 8670 or something equivalent...
If they don't in the next year or so, I'm just going to go for an 8270F. I just see no reason why they'd take the 8670 out of production...

I do work in a
guitar shop
in Toronto, but I don't have any J-Customs in stock. I *HAD* an RG8570M-TB in a while ago, but that was a one time thing.

Re: Rgt320q Vs Rg8270f
Both. I have 2 new 8270's here and another on the way, and I'm always buying used JC's anyway. I have another 8670 on the way but Gurj had it locked up 2 weeks ago LOL I haven't figured out if I want to stock 8170's or 8127's yet. The 8170's are priced so close to the 82's I just don't see them selling as well.

Cool. Don't see any info about them on your site though. Maybe it's time to do some updating *wink* *wink*

Re: Rgt320q Vs Rg8270f
I'm still catching up. I was a ful 2 weeks behind so I've been humping for the last 3 playing catch up. I'm only 4 guitars behind right now, but I'm burnt out!!
There will be a link and model page on my New page of course, just as soon as I can get to it

The 8270F IS the equivalent of the 8670. They changed the model number to account for the loss of
ebony boards
etc., but in all other respects its the same guitar. The 8670 will not be re-released, the only thing that would happen would be for Ibanez restore the higher spec if buyers voted with their wallets and didnt buy the 8270. Theres no sign of ebony coming back on the Jem7vwh, so i doubt very much this will happen.
My advice would be to buy a 8270 now, because ive heard next years model will have a plywood body, and just five strings, due to budget cuts
