S1 CRS/S9870 Should I?

I found one at a german shop. First I wanted to order a rg8670 fro ishi... But now I found this one. After reading richīs opinion on the new EP I think it might be a good deal. costs only 1555€

What do you guys think about this?

Big difference between an S and an RG

The trem itself shouldn't be a deterent. Any bugs it has can be cured. Most noticable was the horid radius becasuse of unseated inserts. Locking studs always a good mod too

i like the ep, because of chainging strings. Itīs easier. The lo pro is about 15 years old. I think iīm going to buy the rg 8670

Itīs very difficult to decide. These both guitars are very good ones. If you would be in my position what would you do? I think now you can understand my decision problem. On the one side the s9870 on the other rg8670. The s was a exhibition guitar. The rg is completely new. Both bodies are mad from mahagony. The s body is made with honduras mahagony. The RG have a "mytery" mahagony. The s have a AAAA quilted maple top. The RG have a AAA flamed maple top. The neck of the s is made from mahagony (mahagony 5 piece bubinga stripe), itīs a set in neck. The neck of the RG is a 5 piece maple bubinga neck), bolt on. Both mechanics are gotoh made. The RG have a irresistible tree of life. The s have a lo pro edge. The RG have a edge pro. Both have the tone zone, blue velvet and an air norton pu.

So if I could I would by them both. But I canīt. So I donīt know which one.

I played with the ep some days ago at a music shop. I think it was easier to change strings at a ep than at a lo pro vibrato.

My friend owns a music shop. So I was allowed to do some tests.
Well I "tested" them both. The both vibratos are good. But I think the ep is a litle better than the lo pro. 'The feeling of them was directly.
Itīs not so complicated as the lo pro. And that what ibanez says about the loosing of the little pieces (I donīt know how to call the litle screws on the saddles), itīs true.

You mean that you can load the ball end on? From my review.

After working on these for a full year I can positively say - stringing with the ball end on is for idiots. Not only do you have to give 5 full turns out [and back in] on the lock to open it enough to accept the ball, but the ball usually gets hung up in those stupid red plastic "seats" on the underside. I've screwed with one for over a minute just to get one damn string out. Avoid, cut the balls off and string normal.

I have a trick: you take a little drinking tube of about 10 cm, then you cut this little tube laterally, tape this cuted tube on the string and put the tube to the end of the string to the ball. Then you can push the string into the red plastic "seat". You can "pose" the ball, how you want.

That definately makes stringing easier? Dude, avoid the ball altogether or leave the at the tuning peg like most smart [a$$] people
