Should I buy this guitar?

I could buy A J-Custom S540 for 825€. The guy says itīs near mint. Is it a good deal?

Sounds like a lot of money to me (even for Europe - I know, I live there myself )... and I'm almost 100% sure that it's NOT a J-custom, but one of those S540 with the "Custom Made" inlay on the frets ! Pic would help, though...

Actually, it probably IS a J-Custom. Most likely either an S3040PL or BS, or perhaps an S540-Japan. There were actually 6 or so different J-Custom S models.

What is the finish like?

If it's a strange kind of oil-looking multi-color, it'd be an S540-JAPAN
If it's a pearlescent white or a trans. brown sunburst, it'd be an S3040.

Those are the most common.

It's probably S540-JAPAN. There was one available at Levytukku last summer that I was interested in (ended up buyin a PGM90HAM instead). The price is not too bad for Finland IMO but you gotta see it in person, the one in Levytukku didn't look too good from close distance (the pattern got really small and messy near cavities etc.).

Yeah, the guy said he bought it from Levytukku a while ago so It must be the same S540-Japan. Do you remember what was the condition? The guy selling it claims that it is near mint if not dead mint. Would you have bought it for 825€ when it was at Levytukku?

By the way, it feels kinda stupid to write in english when we could talk in finnish, but I think others wouldnīt like that .

I think it was 1000€ then (I really cannot say for sure). It was in really good condition, only the output jack was scratched, and played well. I only didn't like the finish but you gotta check that out yourself.
