So, who's gonna buy the 550 reissue?

I thought about it for a minute, but decided against it. Maybe if there were more interesting colors, or dimarzios instead of the Ibanez pickups, but I'll probably by a strat this year if I get a new guitar at all. But I know someone here is gonna get one and love it and make me feel stupid when they're all gone, so who's it gonna be?

Wow, I thought people would jump all over this guitar. "OMG teh original EDGE!" Maybe they actually played an old 550 and realized that it didn't quite live up to their idealized memories.

I'm still confused why people obsess so much about the Edge, I like the Edge Pro more, its alot more comfortable.

Re: So, who's gonna buy the 550 reissue?

I like to get a DY, but I can't afford it. I bought too many guitars in the last 3 years, now my wife wants a house. If they had made a pink one I'd sell one of my existing axes to buy one. I can't believe they made most of them black. I'm so tired of black guitars. I miss the 80's.

Not a chance. I would buy a Prestige than a RG550 reissue.

I thought the re-issues are Japanese made? so there's no difference to a "prestige" badged guitar.

Depending on price and availability I'd like a DY

I'm getting a Roadflare Red. The rep from the Ibanez distributor called the store I work at from NAMM on Friday to say it looked great and my name is first on the list for Australia.

I like both the DY and the RFR, had I had the money at all, I'd get the DY though.

I think that Ibanez should had matche the pup colour to the guitar. Yellow pups on the DY and red on the RFR... or some other colour that might be fitting (I'm a colour blind, I am not big into combinations..)

Re: So, who's gonna buy the 550 reissue?

I was all over this last week trying to pre-order one but I have decided to wait and see if they get re-issued so I can have a play before I part with my cash.

no doubt they are cool though

I think the neck profile will be a bit different.
