SRG 2520???
Yo
I found this guitar on a japanese site selling for 49800 yen used
I'm very interested in it.
But what does it mean by
SRG
? and it also say prestige on the headstock.
I suspect this is a japan only model. Is it as good as the regular prestiges?

Re: SRG 2520???
the S might refer to sappele (spelling?), the wood that the rg520's were made out of. can't be sure though. and yes, it would be same as all other prestige's.

Can any of you guys tell from the picture what kind of bridge is it? it looks like a edge3 to me, but I'm no Ibanez expert...

Re: SRG 2520???
this very same queastion had beed asked before and been answered too.
SRG means Shimamura RG, or Shimamura special edition.
Now..what is Shimamura?
Shimamura is a name of Japanese store.
Almost every store in Japan ( Ibanez dealer) had their own special edition model.

it's an edge pro, there has never been an edge 3 on a prestige model.

Re: SRG 2520???
This Ibanez Prestige SRG2520 was part of a very limited run made for Shimamura Music in 2003.It has a 3 piece Super Wizard neck with pearloid binding, chrome 'prestige' logo, rosewood board and big abalone dots.Fret work is prestige spec(done better than most),but these necks are actually built by the J custom team and feature the trade mark clearcoated back of headstock up to the nut. 150 built total,75 metallic black/75 off white.
Edge pro trem and all hardware in powder cosmo.
Awesome axe built by J custom, buy it while you can!!!!
The only downside was the pick ups imo,but i have EVO's in mine and it sings now.
Seriously,BUY IT!!!!
Heres mine.
