Swapped Out My Ibanez

I swapped out my Ibanez RG570 for a RGA121. I play in a band that tunes to dropped tunings at times so the fixed bridge is easier to setup. I also have a JemVWH with a Edge so I still have an Ibanez with the trem tone.

I've been sold on Ibanez for some time now. Fender is the other company I really like but do not have one.

I'm going to put a Breed in the bridge and a Paf Joe in the neck of the RGA121. Hope to get some pics soon.

Nice one!

You have the same 2 Ibanez as me now, a 7vwh and an RGA121, they look lovely next to each other.

I'm gonna try a breed in the neck and a d-sonic in the bridge of my 121 eventually.

Don't know if you've heard one or not but he Breed is very bassey in the neck. I've found the Paf Joe to be a more well rounded pickup for the neck. If you have heard a breed in the neck and like it, that's cool, some people like the more bass in the neck. Later Bro

I'm just going off DiMarzio.com's 'perfect pickup for you' or whatever it is I've always felt like trying out some Breeds too, although I do LOVE the PAF 'aw' sound but i've heard some people say it lacks power? I like a nice smoothe tone anyway.

That Dimarzio pickup selector is hit and miss. The problem is it doesn't allow you to select a body made of multiple woods. Mahogony is usually very dark and maple is usually very bright. That makes selection for the RGA really difficult using that tool.

Re: Swapped Out My Ibanez

If you want a nice smooth tone out of your neck pickup then I would suggest the Air Norton.
