swapping pickups on RG2020x

Hello,

Given the complex wirirng of those guitars w/ piezo pickups, would it be easy enough to swap the original p/ups on an RG2020x for, say, a Seymour Duncan Custom Custom and an Alnico II Pro Humbucker? Are there simple wiring diagrams/directions readily available for this type of swap? Thanks!

I took my RG570 down to the local shop for the install of the EMG 81 in the bridge position. The tech said it wasnt too difficult. check the Ibanez site for wiring diagrams, they have them going back 10 years or so for almost all models

Does the RG570 have the piezo saddles? Apparently that's what makes it difficult... maybe not for a tech, though.

nope ... very simple.... the piezos on the 2020 are not connected to the fiveway switch... which is where your mags go... just need to either copy the wiring already there (accounting for the different colour schemes... or make up a new scheme for the wiring

cool, I just like to take it in to the tech so I can play my other guitars instead of wrenching on the one I want to update. don't get me wrong, I love to wrench/modify/upgrade...I just choose my battles
