Tell me about the RGT guitars (3120, etc)!!!!!!

I have a Carvin DC127 which is a neck thru design. I love neck thrus. Strangely though, this guitar has pretty bad sustain. So as if it is some sort of sign, I learn that Ibanez makes neck thru guitars. I never knew that. Anyway, I am confused as hell. I go to www.ibanez.com and I see only 2 rgt guitars (42 and 3120). Yet I have seen pictures and mention of others (2120 I think or soemthing like that). Anyway, is there a consolidated list of all the RGT guitars that exist?

Also, I read some of you saying that the RGT is overly bright. That scares me. I like balanced sound that leans more towards low end and low mid end. Mahogany bodied guitars should not be overly bright, so what gives?

Also, I really prefer black hardware. Are there high end RGT guitars with black hardware?

I hope to see tons of posts here. I absolutely love the sound of the Carvin, but the sustain just isn't there.

One other thing - what exactly are the neck dimensions? Can someone send me a link showing the usual Ibanez neck diagram with dimensions?

-brian

Hello and welcome to the Forum! The subject of the RGT's and their tonality has been widely discussed in previous threads. Please use the Forum's "Search" function and browse through those posts- I'm sure that most of your questions will be answered.

The RGT3120 has the Ultra neck, with a 430mm fingerboard radius.

As for black hardware, currently, the RGT3120 and RGT42 are the only models available in the US, and neither are available with black hardware.
