That was a shocking perfermance, so many mistakes, and his tone didn't sound so great either..... Maybe he was nervous, cause I don't really know this guitarist, but this was not great advertising for him

I agree. Sloppy performance, I'm sure he can do better. I didn't like his tone as well, sounded very compressed and flat.

He needs to take a page out of Yngwie's book and crank that b.tch up!
I mean, not everyone like Yngwie, but no one will ever say he played to quietly.
I could hardly hear anything over all the other racket.
And I agree, I'm not in love with the tone either. There wasn't a whole lot of life to it.

Re: The French RG touch !

Wow, everything about that Sucked!!!.....tone, cleanliness, TUNING.
By the looks of the crowd, they seem to think its good??
There is another vid of them doing Anitsocial from Anthrax..... I'm sure if Scott Ian would see or has seen it, he would let out one of those laughs from the beginning of Madhouse!
Not good advertising for them.
Damn... 30 secs of video and 2 minutes for this post...... I want my 150 seconds of life back!!!!

LOL! That's exactly what I was thinking. He sounds like a player who's hit his ability cieling and is out of his comfort zone.

Re: The French RG touch !

He just seemed very shaky. Might have been nerves, playing in front of such a big crowd. He's a good player, but it sure didn't show in that clip. And not nearly enough gain. It made all of his mistakes really stand out.

Re: The French RG touch !

Patrick Rondat is a great french guitarist though.. But obviously not during that performance.

A friend of mine has one the first CD's of Patrick Rondat and i must say: pretty impressive guitarstuff!

More gain wouldn't have made that any better.

That's the first time I have ever heard of Patrick Rondat. I'm not in a hurry to listen to him again.

If he is a good guitarist he certainly didn't show it on that clip.

In the Pro Tools world that we now live in I'm afraid sounding good on CD means nothing to me anymore.
