Re: The wait is on! Ordered an RG1570
Sorry, but you are arguing. Not only will a local tech not even get close the the extent of the work done at the level he bought, but he could also have had it for WAY less if he wanted it flipped [inspection only], and don't discount that level, because currently my rejection rate is at 18%. Want to guess what GC's rejection rate is? I'll answer just for the helluvit. ZERO.
Add to it at Silver he gets MY full warranty coverage, and any purchase level gets tech support for life. Customers are loyal for a reason.
Not that this was supposed to be this long a wait, those guitars should have been in 3 weeks ago.

And you're also trying to resell it, for $20 less than I sell them for. Makes me wonder what you paid for it.

Also, If GC sent a floor model and it was obvious, all you have to do is return it (*they pay return shipping), and they next day air you another one.
Ok, I'll give you that setting up the guitar isn't rocket science. Still, the attention to detail that Rich gives his instruments is greater than your typical guitarist knows how or is able to do. The nut height, intonation, locking studs are all more refined on even Rich's lowest level of service than anything on GC's wall. There are tons of people on here that swear by him and you know that regardless of what service level you buy, he's not going to sell you something that isn't in excellent condition and meets his standards. Peace of mind.
Odds are that the guitar you get from GC will have something not quite perfect about it or you will have to make the adjustments to it as soon as you open up the box. How fun is that for a new guitar? Open up the box, "Great, now I get to spend 2 hours setting everything up." Sure it may be better than the wait in the short term, but what if it's got something wrong with it that you can't adjust or tweak or make do. Send it back. But maybe they give you a hard time about it or it doesn't just come right away. And even if you avoid those pitfalls, you've got a bad taste in your mouth about the guitar when the new one comes. You open it up and are looking for more problems instead of enjoying a beautiful instrument. Not peace of mind.
I don't have a problem with buying from GC or any other dealer for most things, but I wouldn't buy an Ibanez from anyone but Rich after my experiences in dealing with him. His attention to detail is more important to me than getting something potentially inferior quickly. YMMV

Re: The wait is on! Ordered an RG1570
Shipping not included, but warranty is..... It's also actually been physically inspected and passed, which nothing from GC is [even though it might pass]. Nothing AS IS ever goes out at that level anyway, really. I do enough to make sure your first impression is one in which you love it instantly.
Know where all the neck joint crack guitars, bad necks, etc I return go? And they go there because they know nothing will ever be inspected or returned.

Re: The wait is on! Ordered an RG1570
If there's no sign of the RG1570s I'm considering the RG1550M. Can someone explain something for me. The RG1570 has twin humbuckers and a single. The RG1527 has twin humbuckers. So why is the RG1550M named so with twin humbuckers and a single? I find that quite confusing.

Re: The wait is on! Ordered an RG1570
My RG1570CA is both stunning and quite an instrument when setup correctly. Even though it did not come from Rich, it has been setup with the utmost knowledge of trem guitars by someone I trust.
I will argue that "setting up a guitar is not rocket science" My tech found an errant nut shim that was unnecessary which I would have never found. So for some of us, it is.
My tech handed me back an instrument, not just a guitar and from what I have heard, Rich does the same.
Man, they are worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
