Tone of exotic woods RGs?

These occasionally catch my eye...some of them appear to have VERY thick maple tops. *For thos of you who have owned or played one of these...is the tone noticably brighter?

I hate to quantify brighter or not, but the tone is amazing. The Mahogany body adds warmth and the maple top really gives it something extra. The bodies are much more solid/heavier than the basswood bodies or even basswood capped with Maple. Since these come with a variety of pickups, it is not easy to compare... only to say it is nice having one to choose from ...glen

Thanks Glen. *I suppose I should have been more clear...when I said "brighter" I was thinking in comparison to something like a 3210, which has basically the same woods, but not as thick of a cap.

Which one do you have?...any pics posted somewhere?

Kevan might be able to compare more, as he owns some of thinner tops and at least one with the real thick top (as per the UCEWs). There is no doubt the thicker top will effect tone and should brighten the sound, all things being equal otherwise.

You can see pics of my two UCEWs in the GUITAR area under PHOTO gallery ...glen

Was wondering whose those were. * Beautiful instruments. *Stunning figuring on the UCEWFM...don't see that much on Ibanez's.
