Umm, New Problem With My New RGA121
In another thread I described my RGA121's problem with horrific sustain. I had it sent out and the distributer concluded the guitar was FUBAR and refunded my money. I then had the store I purchased the guitar from send over a new RGA121. Well, I picked up the new RGA121 and took it home to try out (the salesman said I can try the guitar for 30 days and return it if I'm not satisfied).
I was playing the guitar and the sustain was a lot better than the old RGA121, though nothing to phone home about, so I concluded there was nothing wrong with the guitar. That was until I took the original strings off. After doing so I noticed the bridge pegs (that screw into the metal ferrets that are in the body) move around in the ferrets. Like, the threads of the pegs and the threads of the ferrets aren't tight and this makes the pegs rock around. The result is that the bridge is leaning forward slightly.
Can someone, please, confirm that the pegs are supposed to be stable in the body and that only the bridge should have any movement (since it's not screwed to the pegs)? I remember the pegs of the old RGA121 being stable. I'll take this one back as well if it also has a manufacturing defect.
[Side Note] I've been looking at the RGT42FX and RGT6EFX as an alternative to the RGA121 since they are also fix bridged Ibanez but with the added bonus of a neck through design, though no Wizard neck (and I'm liking the thicker body with flat top). Can anyone tell me if I should stick with the RGA121 or check out the RGT?
