Understanding my bridge

I am pretty new to my Edge Zero bridge (spent the last 10 years using PGM's) and im a bit confussed.

It has an intonation tool yet the manual only tells me what it is and not how it works. Also there is two screws in the bag that the arm comes in??????? what do they do??????

Maybe Ibanez should consider that some people are new to floating trems and put instructions in the manual

Re: Understanding my bridge

The intonation tool just screws in to the back of the sadles, then you unscrew the sadle lock-down screw and start adjusting, sort of.

The little srews in the bag are lock srews for the trem studs, they are screwed in from under the stud however, so you need to completely remove the studs to fit them. And then you might aswell replace the studs for proper 2LE2B studs...

If this isn't in the manual it's quite bad, Edge Zeros are on the most prestiges now, Ibanez should have updated the manual by now...

Re: Understanding my bridge

Thanks for the help

The manual covers every bridge ibanez make so its very brief about each one and although it tells you which part is which, it does not tell in any real detail how to use each part. For new users its very annoying.

How would i benefit from adding the locking screws to the trem studs??

Re: Understanding my bridge

The locking screws prevent the trem studs from shifting around in the wood, creating an oval hole that reduces tuning stability. This isn't as big a deal in harder wood guitars, but, for example, a heavily abused trem in basswood can cause some serious problems down the road. It is definitely worthwhile to use the locking screws even if they add an extra step to adjustments and other trem tweaks.

Re: Understanding my bridge

I found myself in the same situation with mine. I'm taking it to a tech next week to get the studs installed. Its on page 36 in the manual.
